Description: |
The objective of this project is to understand how Latinx immigrants perceive their own belonging and integration in Idaho's emerging amenity-based economies. We are conducting a survey in Teton Valley that examines immigrant's perception of belonging, integration, and access to resources. Teton Valley has a growing Latinx population and currently around 30% of the population identifies as Latinx. By examining the context of belonging, integration, and access, we aim to highlight the challenges Latinx immigrants face in integrating into amenity-based economies and rural cultures of Idaho, as well as the opportunities to create equitable change. We will disseminate our findings to local community-based non-profit organizations working within the context of immigration, affordable housing, and city planning.
